Yesterday I was reading an analysis of three Mini ITX motherboards in HomeMedia supports the new Intel Core and Core i5 i3 in socket 1156. Compare three plates:
- H55-ITX Zotac Wi-Fi: a motherboard with intel chipset H55, which comes with wireless as standard. A worthy heir of the pioneer with the nVidia chipset socket 775 and we put on many occasions. And still assemble when the client seeks a small and powerful solution for use with Linux.

- Gigabyte: Gigabyte’s first foray in this format. Distinguished by the presence of the new USB 3.0 ports. Plate is we have not yet tried us.

- DH57 JG: Another plate that takes over Intel’s previous models. Now with support for the new Core i3 and i5 and especially with better graphics solution to its previous models.

The three plates are used for mounting equipment capable of doing what larger PCs, but with ridiculous sizes. Thus in the comparison analysis HomeMedia for three specific uses :
- MediaCenter HTPC or : perfectly fulfill this task, since the integrated graphics processor capable of withstanding without problems any video file or audio we want to play. In addition, power management tools allow us to get very quiet systems. The teams that we have set ourselves with these cards have been used as the primary. We even have models that are being used to watch satellite TV in HD and support the workload without any problems
- Server files PC-based NAS, here stands a little model which allows Intel Raid and gives us a little more versatility. We have not mounted any equipment for this purpose, but with the old Intel motherboard with socket 775 if you assemble a team and we got very few and very small storage capacity
- Team to play : it is clear that if we seek this end, we need to add a more powerful graphics card that comes built into Intel micros. Here we need a slightly larger box to put the chart. But barring that, the board fully supports such use. Of course, to mount a PC to play with these cards, any better than this box of Silverstone, the SG07
Of the three plates, we have assembled the Zotac and Intel. The Gigabyte has not, although we have assembled equivalent microATX boards. I personally liked the most was the Intel. I saw a plaque with a very complete bios. Perhaps less overclocking options, but with parameters that control the bios from Asus and Gigabyte are not. For example, a finer control of the operation of the graphics card. In one of the teams that assemble within unahFX Micro, with the option of the bios, the temperature got down playing Full HD more than 15 degrees. By the way, these boards seem to be designed to be mounted in that box .

And a note, co-HomeMedia discuss it, but I stress. The Gigabyte Intel and carries food from the motherboard side. That can be a problem when we ride these boards in very small boxes. We have taken to make some fixes, because of this reason. The Zotac has it easier to bring the power connector in the middle .
