After the presentation of the IPAD in San Francisco, I had enough time to play with to understand their operation and as seen in a real environment (zero videos barter). After months of speculation I must say that the forecasts prior to the launch had been successful (hardware + OS) but other data such as price, IPAD surprised me. Well, after reading the summary and full information of the device the million dollar question is: How does it work?
Response Time
The first thing we discussed in a touch device is always the reaction rate. Although the resolution is so great that when compared to the iPod, the IPAD is equal to (or even more) “reactive” than the iPhone 3G. In general, the 2D graphics speed is very good and the user interface responds pretty quickly to the contact, which gives the user a feeling in control. Zune With the exception of HD, I have never found a device with improved speed of reaction as the iPhone 3G and now the IPAD.

The computer screen is
The second thing that is critical in a touch device is … well … The screen!. You can browse the Internet and read a few paragraphs of a book to say that it looks pretty good. Do not exceed the OLED, but the color palette is great as the sensitivity. I could not test it out, but if it is based on the same technology that I can predict that 3G will work well in full hot sun, must be proved. Better than the E-ink? It depends in what context, the E-ink is good to read for long periods of time, but let’s be honest, if your goal is to read a magazine or a website, what you need is the color and a time update (refresh) fairly quickly.
For the latter the IPAD is better than any reader of Ebooks. If you plan to read for a couple of hours things change, but I do not think you end up with a headache, less every day I am attached to a LCD monitor and I have no problems. The truth is that reading for two hours in an e-ink device is lighter than an LCD.
Thanks to the color screen you can access things you read every day (web, pdf, email) but in a different way. Even where eBooks are on everyone’s lips, the Web is still the queen because it is dynamic and free to see, gánenle that!
WiFi or WiFi connectivity “+3 G?
Prior to the launch an important issue was the fact that nobody wants to pay a second subscription for wireless access. The truth is that this is a hindrance, but with the IPAD payment for the 3G is month to month (optional) with options for $ 15 to $ 30 and there are no forced schemes.
The fact is unlocked come to applaud, I doubt that other tablets offer a scheme similar to Apple. I suspect most people will opt for the $ 499 version (WiFi). Apple was smart enough to build a version without 3G modem to offer it cheaper. If the data schema is your thing then you can invest $ 130 dollars more and go.

Up, the latest Pixar animated film was available on the IPAD ec har so I could look at the small demo. The sound quality is impeccable, the colors are vibrant but the fact that these films are characterized by super saturated. This is not a point of reference for an analysis of color. If you want to get the video to your TV or monitor can do so through the dock connector.
iBooks

The ebooks are in vogue, but the strength of IPAD are color magazines and web content (and Steve Wozniak said.) I wish that Apple did a demo with fewer books and more items in color. Despite that, the IPAD is a good reading device, of course, depending on how long you are going to read.
There is support for PDF files so you could say it’s easily the best PDF reader and other devices that have trouble handling complex PDF files. Further testing will need this option.
At this point I do not find support for Open eBook format so your options are: the book store, PDF attachments, files and web ePub. In the end what you have to ask is “Can I see the content I like?”.
Web Browsing
The browsing experience is good. Imagine an iPhone / iPod touch only more rapid and larger screen. In this field, the IPAD beats any other tablet we’ve seen.
No support for Flash, I tried several sites but nowhere, perhaps Apple support at some point but you must realize that this would open the door to all kinds of music and video content that is outside the scope of Apple.
After seeing what Google did with Google Voice, the answer to avoiding the adoption of Apple’s build in certain applications to run on the web.
We need more time to try other sites and issue a final verdict. So far the navigation is pretty solid.
Games

All games were games that were developed for the iPhone tiered standard resolution (480×320) than the IPAD (1024×768) through a good filter. It looks a little weird so do not expect miracles, original content is very small.
Because the 3D rendering is done at 480×240 will have to wait to go play for the screen to test how fast is it in terms of 3D rendering. The good news for developers is to make the resolution change is easy, the bad news is they will have to redesign the user interface to take advantage of the screen.
The demos had shown very good concepts, such as the beating to make gear shifting in Need For Speed for example. We know that Apple devices are good for games, but players “hardcore” hardly adpoted this technology. First dead before changing the mouse and keyboard.
Conclusion. You can not satisfy everyone (even casual players have greater purchasing power)
Backward
The IPAD is backwards compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch, that means that hundreds of thousands of applications available today (albeit low resolution). We hope that future devices will also have backwards compatibility because it is a good thing for the developer community.
Forsal Scott, leader of the handset division at Apple predicted a new “Gold Rush” referring to the development of applications for the IPAD. That is true, because the first applications will have much less competition than later generations. That is also true for game consoles.
Battery Time
Without taking so long to exploit it, I have to believe Apple in terms of battery, but I was told that the 10 hours of battery would “probably” when the screen was on but at 50% brightness.
We’ll have to try it in a real environment, but it is not surprising that the screen is the first of all the components that sucks the energy (like the 3G radio). We assume that the strength of the battery is what Apple used as a flag of war: hard enough to play movies and much more so with music.
Accessories
The IPAD Connector uses the same physical than the iPhone / iPod touch so the accessory most likely work without problems thanks to the compatibility of software.
Base keypad for IPAD: It is without doubt the most interesting in that the IPAD is friendly email. This accessory could make a station for sending mails at home. To send mails prefer moving the laptop or else the iPhone 3G.
IPADE Cover: The cover is made of a rough texture which is pleasing to the touch, but is not very resistant to say. Of course, it works to protect it from scratches and wear but stand falls short, just not as stable as quiséramos. To test waits for the App Store and asks you to do a demonstration.
Not forget the kit to connect the camera to IPAD.
Conclusion
At first glance, the IPAD is the best tablet that has been built, perhaps because the other models suck. Apple has once again performed his job brilliantly. This device has a pretty good user experience even predicting that it will not be as successful as the iPhone (in terms of units sold).
The share price is undoubtedly the most amazing, much cheaper than competitors like the Archos 9. This is partly because we were bombarded with rumors that pointed to the ridiculous price of $ 1,000 (although there is a close model of $ 829 U.S. dollars).
Most people (not geeks) with whom I have spoken to are happy with the price. Do not forget that eventually decrease. My opinion is that it is quite interesting that Apple has chosen to offer a basic version for $ 499.
I suspect that some will buy it just because it is “cool”, however the device has a genuine use in terms of entertainment and value in use as a secondary device.
