Vernor Vinge is one of my favorite authors of Science Fiction, so when I found War of Peace I could not resist reading them.

Is the book that launched his literary career. Hugo Award finalist was the year of publication. The novel is not very long and is read with considerable interest. We Vinge style in it, with very well constructed characters and a plot that is safe and trapping moves slowly.

As always notice that I can reveal some of the argument from here

The novel is set in the near future. Scientists have used a revolutionary invention to take over the world. The idea with which the novel is imaginative part. Is to consider on an invention, technological progress and see how their advancement is capable of changing the distribution of power throughout the world in a matter of years. The invention is none other than the bubble. The bubbles are as their name suggests are ideal circles. What is inside the bubble is separated from the impenetrable resto.Son in both directions, or you can go to them or you can leave them .. That is what is contained inside a bubble is not available again for the rest of the world.

A discovery like this causes a total change in the world. Caen nation-states, the population is ruralise and finally emerge as the sole world power, an organization that seeks to maintain the existing statusquo. The book tells the story of what happens 50 years after the invention of the bubble. And as in some other works of Vinge see the confrontation between the small and large.

The start of this book is rather slow, but once you spend the first few pages and there is no form of release, the interest to know how the story ends is strong.

In short, a book that I liked it. But I say I am a reader that loves style Vinge.
